Tonight, someone will eatbecause of you.
We reach the people Bharat forgets — a flooded village, a blind school, a classroom of a thousand — with hot food, and with respect.

Our Method
Turn what India already loves — festivals, birthdays, cricket — into meals.
Our Belief
"Hunger and human need know no borders. A small act of kindness can carry a very big message."

Hunger Free Bharat — The Movement on the Ground
🍛 Ground StoryEndorsed at the Highest Level
Ministers, MPs and public figures speaking for Hunger Free Bharat — in their own voices, on video.
In Our Own Words — On Record
"If anyone in the country sleeps hungry, our freedom is incomplete. Every meal we share is a step toward a better Bharat."
"This is not a time to ask questions, but to stand with them. Water was needed; we delivered water."
"Sport can create teams. A cause can create a movement."
"When so many people struggle to access food, wastage cannot be treated as normal."
It Started With a Question
What if the food India throws away could feed the people it forgets? Two facts sit side by side in this country. Every year India throws away 68.8 million tonnes of edible food — worth ₹7,92,000 crore. In the same year, 33.4 million children under five go malnourished. The food exists. It simply never reaches them.
The idea was born in the COVID-19 lockdown. When kitchens shut and daily-wage families were stranded without food, our founder began feeding people in his own, individual capacity — a few families, then streets, then more than one person could carry alone. What stayed with him was not the numbers but the gap: the food existed, the will existed, and still people slept hungry because nobody had joined the two.
So in 2023, Adi Bodh Foundation — a registered, 80G-eligible non-profit in Delhi — turned that personal effort into a movement: Hunger Free Bharat. It began through a cricket league where every run became ten meals — today the Rashtriya Cricket League — and from January 2025 grew into a nationwide mission that puts hunger inside the things India already loves and does every day: a game, a birthday, a festival, a school morning. The belief is simple: feeding someone is not charity handed down, but a duty shared across the whole country — done with respect, at the table, with the same food we would serve our own family.
"Not merely a mission, but a movement reflecting our collective responsibility."

Hunger vs. Waste
India grows enough for everyone — yet millions sleep hungry while tonnes are thrown away.
Human Impact on Vulnerable Lives
Behind every number is a child whose first years decide the rest of a life — and a family that would cook if it could.
Unprecedented Losses in the Food Chain
Farmers' labour, water and energy thrown away — enough food, every year, to feed the people who go without.
Figures as cited in the Hunger Free Bharat launch release, January 2025.
Six Rules We Never Break
Hot, fresh, never leftovers
We cook for recipients the way you'd cook for a guest. Nourishment, not disposal.
We go to the need
Flood camps, blind schools, government schools, street corners — by truck, by boat, on foot.
Dignity first
"Not only food, but love, respect, belonging and a smile along with it."
Every donor is equal
An 80G receipt and the same gratitude — for a ₹100 donor and a ₹1-crore sponsor alike.
Aligned with Bharat's goals
Viksit Bharat 2047, PM POSHAN & Tithi Bhojan, Eat Right India, UN SDG-2: Zero Hunger.
No borders
"The people of Nepal are our own. Whenever humanity needs us, we will stand together."
Be a Pillar of the Mission
Whether as a donor, a corporate partner, a volunteer or a school that books a Tithi Bhojan date — your involvement puts a plate in front of someone tonight.

Floods don't just take homes. They take stoves, grain and the road to the next village. In the first days a family needs food, now — not a form. Here is what happened in the monsoon of 2026, and what we did each time.
5,000 food & snack packets, flagged off for Ballia
The situationLate-August floods on the Ganga and Ghaghra put large parts of Ballia district, Uttar Pradesh, under water. Families lost homes, stored grain and the stoves they cook on; for days, cooked food was out of reach.
What we didOn 30 August a truck carrying 5,000 food and snack packets left the Constitution Club of India, New Delhi, flagged off by former MP Danish Ali. Days later our team was in Ballia itself, distributing with MP Neeraj Shekhar's team and local volunteers.
Snack packets as the Narayani rose
The situationThe Narayani river rose and flooded the low-lying areas of Kushinagar district. Families in those villages were cut off, with no dry place to cook and nothing to eat.
What we didOur team reached the flooded low-lying areas within hours and distributed snack packets door to door — the first food many had that day.
Not a flood — but the same reflex: 2,000+ water bottles the same day
The situationStudents at Satya Niketan, Delhi, found themselves in a sudden crisis with no reliable supply of safe drinking water.
What we didWe reached a student volunteer on the ground, learned that clean water — not food — was the urgent need, and delivered 2,000+ mineral-water bottles the same day, with food kept on standby.

₹3,51,000 for Nepal's flood victims
The situationFloods across the border in Nepal left thousands of families in need. We packed 10,000 relief boxes for them — but the consignment could not clear the border.
What we didRather than let the help stall, Adi Bodh Foundation handed ₹3,51,000 to Shri Sandeep Thapa, Ambassador of Nepal to India, at the Embassy on 9 September, with the coordination of MP Sandeep Rana, so relief could be bought and distributed inside Nepal.
"Hunger and human need know no borders. The people of Nepal are our own."

No Child Hungry on a Festival
A festival is the loudest moment of the Indian year — and the loneliest, if you are the family under the flyover watching everyone else celebrate. We take the festival to them.
Independence Day: a meal drive for the needy
The situationOn the 80th Independence Day, while the city celebrated, many people on Delhi's streets had no meal to mark the day with.
What we didThe team ran a special meal distribution for the needy in Delhi, with actor Arun Bakshi joining to serve.
"If anyone in the country sleeps hungry, our freedom is incomplete. Every meal we share is a step toward a better Bharat."
Food and bansuris under the bridge
The situationBeneath the flyover at Shastri Park, Delhi, lives a community whose children watch Janmashtami from the outside — no feast, no festival.
What we didVolunteers went to Shastri Park on Janmashtami with snacks and bansuris — flutes — so the children had both a meal and something to celebrate with.
"We gave them snacks and flutes; in return we received their smiles, love and blessings. The joy of a festival is complete only when it is shared."

🤝 On Ganesh Chaturthi the festival went to the Blind School, Shahdara — that evening has its own page: Meals for the Specially-Abled & Elderly →

Celebrate by Feeding a School
Tithi means a date; Bhojan means a meal. Under the Government's Tithi Bhojan initiative, citizens mark a special day by feeding schoolchildren. We have made it a programme — from Noida to Gurugram — and a classroom.
Living Bapu's values, one food packet at a time
The situationOn the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, India remembers his message of compassion, service and humanity — a day better honoured by doing than by remembering.
What we didThe Hunger Free Bharat team distributed food packets among the students of Govt. Model Sanskriti Primary School, Gurugram, Haryana — because true service begins with a simple act of kindness.
"The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others." — Mahatma Gandhi
Fresh fruit for ~1,000 students
The situationGovernment-school children in Noida often go through the day on little fresh food; fruit is a rarity in many of their homes.
What we didOn the Prime Minister's birthday, 17 September, the team organised a Jan Seva programme at a government school in Noida with the guidance and support of Shri Pankaj Singh, Hon'ble MLA Noida. Fresh fruit reached about a thousand students under the Tithi Bhojan initiative.
"Seeing the joy on nearly a thousand faces was heartwarming. Tithi Bhojan gives every section of society a chance to contribute to children's well-being."

"Brush Against Hunger" with Times NIE
The situationHunger and food waste are rarely discussed in classrooms, yet the habits that cause waste are formed at school age.
What we didWith Times NIE (The Times of India) we are running a painting competition for classes 6–12 across Delhi-NCR — 100+ students a day — at the National Stadium, New Delhi, 23–25 October, alongside the Rashtriya Cricket League. Campaign details ↓

Mark your day with a school meal
The situationEvery government school has days when a good meal would mean a great deal — and every family has days it wants to remember.
What we didChoose a date — a birthday, an anniversary, a memorial — and a school is fed in your name. Our team organises the meal; you receive the photographs and the thanks.

Brush Against Hunger
A painting competition with Times NIE — so the next generation learns to see hunger.

"Children have immense creativity and the power to inspire positive change around them. Through this painting competition, we aim to transform awareness into action."
Let your colours create a Hunger-Free Bharat. Students of classes 6–12 across Delhi-NCR paint what a Bharat without hunger looks like — 100+ young artists a day, over three days at the National Stadium, New Delhi (India Gate), alongside Rashtriya Cricket League Season 4.
Small brush strokes, big change.

We Bring the Plate to Them
Most food relief assumes you can reach it. For a visually impaired student, an elderly person living alone or a specially-abled child, the free-meal line three streets away might as well be in another city. Cooking is dangerous; asking is humiliating. So we go to them — to blind schools today, and to old-age homes and special-needs centres as the programme grows.
A festival dinner, served at the table
The situationFor a visually impaired student in a hostel, the free-meal line three streets away might as well be in another city. Cooking is dangerous; asking is humiliating; going without is what usually happens.
What we didOn Ganesh Chaturthi the team hosted a special dinner for the students of the Blind School, Shahdara, and served Ganpati prasad and modak. Nobody handed over a packet and left; everyone sat, ate and celebrated together.
"Spending time with these children, seeing the light on their faces and celebrating a festival with them is no less than a blessing."

Food, and what comes with it
The situationFood delivered at a gate feeds the body and nothing else. Students who rarely have visitors need the company as much as the meal.
What we didEvery visit is a sit-down meal with the students — festival-first, with prasad and a full plate — because our effort is not only to provide food, but to share love, respect, belonging and a smile along with it.

Feed More. Waste Less.
India wastes 68.8 million tonnes of food a year. No kitchen, however big, can out-cook that. So in 2026 we began asking the country's lawmakers to change the rules that produce the waste.
100+ volunteers run against food waste
The situationFood waste is treated as normal — yet the people who could change that habit, the public, are rarely spoken to about it where they gather in numbers.
What we did100+ Hunger Free Bharat volunteers ran the 5.3 km of the Vedanta Delhi Half Marathon 2026 carrying placards with one message: "Stop Food Wastage. Let No One Sleep Hungry." Actors Vindu Dara Singh and Aroon Bakshi ran with us — Bakshi, 68, alongside two 12-year-olds — with thanks to Lakshya and Procam for the platform. Read the ANI report ↗
"When so many people struggle to access food, wastage cannot be treated as normal."
A food-waste chapter in NCERT textbooks
The situationIndia wastes 68.8 million tonnes of food a year, and children are never taught what a plate costs in farmers' labour, water and energy. The habit of waste is learnt early — and so could the habit of care.
What we didWe wrote to Shri Jayant Chaudhary, Minister of State for Education, requesting that NCERT include a dedicated chapter on food waste, food conservation and responsible consumption in school textbooks.
"Every morsel on the plate is valuable. Take only what you need, don't waste, and get the surplus to those who need it."

Uniform serving sizes for restaurants
The situationRestaurant portions in India follow no standard, and oversized servings end up in the bin — a large, avoidable share of the country's food waste.
What we didOn 1 October we asked Shri Chirag Paswan, Union Minister of Food Processing Industries, to set uniform food serving-size standards for restaurants nationwide — a flexible, industry-compatible framework developed with restaurant associations, not a restriction. The Minister acknowledged the seriousness of the problem and agreed to examine the proposal.
"Food waste is not just food waste, but the waste of our farmers' hard work, water, energy and the country's valuable resources."

On 3 October 2026 our founder wrote, by hand, to every player, captain, team owner and supporter: the Restaurant Cricket League was taking a new identity as the Rashtriya Cricket League — the same spirit, the same mission, now with a national name.
"You did not just support a cricket league — you supported a cause. Every run we score, every match we play, every effort we make towards Hunger Free Bharat will be a part of this journey."

"If I donate… does a meal really happen?"
Yes. Here's the whole machine — no curtain.
